The Weather Gods Hate Me (Yet Again)

So I got up to the observatory last Saturday. Here's the weather scorecard:

Sat night: Clouds; did not open the telescope.
Sun night: Opened for 20mins; then clouds moved in and shut us down.
Mon night: Hail, Rain, etc; did not open.
Tue night: Clear! Stars! Data! Yay!
Wed night: Clouds moved in just at moonset; did not open.
Thu night: High winds; did not open.
Tonight's forecast: Cloudy (it's currently snowing...)

Starting tomorrow night, the weather is supposed to be beautiful as far out as the forecast goes. Of course, I leave the observatory tomorrow.

Sigh.

Observatory Blues

So I'm up at the telescope at Kitt Peak. We're in a cloud. Winds are gusting over 60 mph -- it sounds like the windows are being sandblasted. It's cold, inside and out. And the weather isn't supposed to get better for another few days. Grumble, grumble.

Meanwhile, the dog is back home living the life of Riley with his new friends:

How to get your parents out of bed

When you wake up in the morning, walk your 3-yr-old self to your parents room, stand by the bed, and announce "I am about to go pee."

Works like a charm.
